چکیده
Abstract Intense sub-cycle electromagnetic pulses allow one to drive nonlinear processes in matter with unprecedented levels of control. However, it remains challenging scale such sources the relativistic regime. Recently, a scheme that utilizes laser-driven wakes plasmas amplify and compress seed laser produce tunable, carrier-envelope-phase stable, has been proposed. Here, we present parametric studies this process using particle-in-cell simulations, showing its robustness over wide range experimentally accessible laser-plasma interaction parameters, spanning more than two orders magnitude background plasma density. The method is shown work different gas-jet profiles, including structured density profiles robust relatively driver intensities. Our study shows up 10mJ energy can be produced.

Intense circularly polarized attosecond pulse generation from relativistic laser plasmas using few-cycle laser pulses.
We have investigated the polarization of attosecond light pulses generated from relativistic few-cycle laser pulse interaction with the surface of overdense plasmas using particle-in-cell simulation. Under suitable conditions, a desired polarization state of the generated attosecond pulse can be achieved by controlling the polarization of the incident laser. In particular, an elliptically polar...

We report on efficient generation of millijoule-level, kilohertz-repetition-rate few-cycle laser pulses with radial polarization by combining a gas-filled hollow-waveguide compression technique with a suitable polarization mode converter. Peak power levels >85 GW are routinely achieved, capable of reaching relativistic intensities >10(19) W/cm2 with carrier-envelope-phase control, by employin...
متن کاملGeneration of ultra-intense single-cycle laser pulses by using photon deceleration.
A scheme to generate single-cycle laser pulses is presented based on photon deceleration in underdense plasmas. This robust and tunable process is ideally suited for lasers above critical power because it takes advantage of the relativistic self-focusing of these lasers and the nonlinear features of the plasma wake. The mechanism is demonstrated by particle-in-cell simulations in three and 2(1/...

In this paper, the laser ablation process based on the irradiation of nanosecond pulsed lasers on a copper target surface in the presence of Helium gas is studied. The dynamical behaviors of the generated plasma in the helium gas and evaporated copper at the atmospheric pressure are examined using a laser pulse, laser wavelength of and intensity of 7×1010W/cm2. متن کاملHarmonic generation by atoms interacting with intense ultrashort laser pulses
The interaction of intense ultrashort laser pulses with a gas of argon atoms is numerically investigated. The investigation utilizes a model that solves both the time-dependent Schrödinger equation and the wave equation self-consistently. The time-dependent Schrödinger equation for single-active electron in the effective static potential and in the potential of electron-laser interaction is sol...
